Dinertown Tycoon Champion: CellaHorne

CellaHorne was kind enough to give us a few pointers after her recent victory in the Dinertown Tycoon Challenge.

1. How long have you been playing video games?
I started playing video games when my youngest found Zoo Tycoon, so about 4 years or so, I think I played it more than she did, and then I found Diner Dash.....that was it, I have been hooked ever since!

2.  What's your favorite type of game?
My Favorite is without a doubt, Time Management, but coming in close would be games like the sims, where I can sit back, relax, and make other people do things, lol!

3.
Have you played other tycoon games, if so what?
I loved Fairy Godmother Tycoon, and this game was so similiar that it was easy to slip right into playing without a learning curve really, just kinda picked up where Fairy Godmother left off.

4.
What was the most difficult aspect of the game?
The most difficult was keeping my people from eating, lol, the longer they took, the more money I made, and the longer I could keep Grub Burger at bay, the more money I could rake in.

5.
How often did you purchase the research?
I never bought the research, the menu everyday showed who was buying what, and I just went by that cuz it was free!

6.
Which advertising did you use the most/ least?
I always, always used all the advertising offered, it made a huge difference.

7.  What basic strategy did you use?

I also ALWAYS met the daily chefs goal, if I didn't like the one offered, I kept restarting till I got one I could win!  I also never upgraded beyond the first sign, unless it was a Chefs challenge, and the game I got the best score in, I only opened one restaurant per level, and left the others closed.  Once your store became popular, people would come even if you didn't have the "on demand" item.

8.  Are there any general tips you can give us for playing Tycoon Games?
The most basic advice is that it takes patience in Tycoon games, and just because you can upgrade, doesn't mean it is always best!!

Congrats again Cella on a great score and thanks for helping make this another exciting challenge.
