The Lion, The Witch, & The Wardrobe. I loved that book when I was younger. Didnt really dig the rest of the series, but the first one rocked fantasy/religious literature.
I also liked the Judy Blume books when I was a preteen.
My mom used to send me away for the summer, and pack my suitcase with books.
So many.. My favorite book as a child was " Mr. Bell's Fix It Shop".. I had a huge collection of Little Golden Books. The collection has gotten smaller over the years with little hands ripping and coloring on books, but we still have at least 50.

When I was really young I just loved the Raggedy Ann/Raggedy Andy series of books! I always wanted a Raggedy Ann doll but, sadly, never got one. *pout* // When I was somewhat older I loved a book called "Diamond in the Window", about two kids near Walden Pond. It was full of magic. // I absolutely ate up the Nancy Drew series and then fell in love with Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea series. -- Sorry, couldn't name just one! --

Anything by Beverly Cleary makes me think of childhood, especially Ramona Quimbly, Age 8. I also loved the Bunnicula series, my favorite being The Celery Stalks at Midnight. Are those still in print? Just the visual of a cat trying to stab "undead" vegetables with toothpicks still cracks me up!

I'm another fan of the "Little House" books. I also loved "The Borrower's, The Red Shoes, The Littlest Witch, All the Narnia Stories, and The Hobbitt.
Ramona...Remember when she thought "The Dawnzer DeLight" was a lamp ( words from the Star Spangled Banner) LOL It still cracks me up. And Amelia Bedeila. Good Times.
