RE: Dream Chronicles The Chosen Child

PlayFirst, Inc., the award-winning entertainment company, today announced the official release dates for Dream Chronicles: The Chosen Child, the third installment in the popular Dream Chronicles adventure game series. PlayFirst PlayPass members will have exclusive access to the game for both Mac and PC download from Tuesday, April 14 and the title will be widely available on Thursday, April 16.

The upcoming release introduces a more open world experience for the series which for the first time, allows players to explore the game world in a non linear way. Through the introduction of a new nexus feature, players are now able to travel back and forth to various parts of the dream world as part of an ongoing quest which reveals critical clues and challenges.

The Dream Chronicles series traces the story of Faye whose overarching mission is to find her husband and child after they mysteriously disappear. Set in an ethereal dream world, Faye has trouble recalling the circumstances of their disappearance - a mystery which is gradually unraveled though a series of player quests and hidden object puzzles.

"Dream Chronicles: The Chosen Child brings the Dream Chronicles series to a new level," said Miguel Tartaj, lead game designer, KatGames. "With a backdrop of amazingly intricate artwork and advanced technical detail as well as the new multi area puzzles allowing for more player mobility, established fans and new players will be challenged and delighted."

The dream jewels which have played an important part of the series now also have a more critical role as they are required to enable the player to progress from one area to another. Adding to the fairy tale theme of the game, a newly featured crystal ball also acts as an additional aid as players make their way through the dream realm.

Dream Chronicles: The Chosen Child is developed by KatGames and published by PlayFirst. Dream Chronicles, the first game in the series will be available for the first time on iPhone this April.

okay guys, im debating to get this game or not.  I didnt play the FP on this one, and I noticed you only get 30 min trial to try the game out , so that means to me this is a short game.

Will this be short just like the other two ?  that you can get it done within a hr or so ?

And big question is a big replayable ablity to it ?

good grief, I did fine with the Beta, but I think they made it harder. got stuck at the rocks, and now at the gateway, not sure what to do, the gems won't move and neither will the gears.  eek...sigh, I'm pooped anyway, worked in the garden all day to keep the dog busy, having a new floor put in and he definately gets in the way

Just finished the game. For some reason I can't quite put my finger on, I really enjoyed DC2 more. The ending was anti-climatic & very easy. It just snuck up on me. For me, it was a longer gameplay than DC2 because I had such a difficult time finding things. There are no little glitter clues to help you find things.
As I was typing, I think I realized why I like DC2 better. In DC2, the puzzles were more logic-based. In DC3, they are either really easy or random. FOr most of the mazes & puzzles, I found if I just kept clicking repeatedly, the puzzle would solve itself. And I HATED the constellation game.

From what I am reading in the PF forums about this game , it is a very short game and they was shocked and disappointed with that, even though its a good game.

I had a gut feeling about Poopy dash and didnt stick with it, I think Im going to stick with my gut on this one and dont get it.

If it wasnt so short of a game I would get it. Dang it . I wanted a new game to play to lol.

I odn't know why people are so shocked. It's about as long as the others were. I just replayed it in about 2 hours, which is about what a replay of DC2 took me, and is more than double a replay of DC1, which only took 45-50 minutes. Yes, that's still short, but people who are familiar with the series should have expected it.
LOL...Poopy Dash. Still cracks me up!

Now that I agree with 100%. Seems like most PF games released this year have that "we're to tired to come up with a good ending" feel. DC2's final task was one of the hardest puzzles & had a sense of urgency (even though there really was no time limit, the story made it seem like time was of the essence). The final task for this game was just to make another couple of potions. Definately left me with the feeling of "that's it?" Just like when I finished Chocolatier 3.

I only found 66 :o(.  those suckers are very hard to see I dont know why they made them so small

I will play again and then we can compare lists to see what we missed

What I will do Gable is go from room to room and list how many I found

Example  Tree house
Sewing room 5

Will start on the game right now . It will keep me from going back to bed lol

That sounds like a plan. I'll do the same thing & PM my list to you, Gable. I think Suzy is working on it as well.
