I need some advice

My youngest kiddo put stickers on her bedroom door years ago (wooden) so I'm trying to get them off and some won't budge.  The ones that did come off have left adhesive and the underside of the sticker behind.  Does anyone know of a miracle product that will get them off?

I used vegetable oil to get the remains of the stickers off my kitchen cabinets. My house is 4 yrs old and the previous owners never bothered to do it and although it was in an inconspicuos spot it bothered the heck out of me. At first it looked like it wasn't working, but then all of sudden surprisingly it started all coming off at once. If that doesn't work there's a product called "Goo B-Gone" that you can get at Walmart or any home improvement store and it works wonders on anything sticky like that that has a residue.  Good luck!! smile

P.S. My husband is in the construction industry and he uses a product called "Oops" that will clean off dried paint, tar, almost anything! It works great too. I keep some on hand here at home.

I've read where WD40 is used to remove stickers off of appliances. Depending if the wood has been painted I would be concerned about it staining the wood.

Personally, I simply add a lot of water on the sticker. Most stickers have a plastic cover layer on top of them, so you should first remove the sticker, until only the "paper part" and some glue remain. Then add a lot of water, just onto the (in most cases) white part of paper.
It should come off easily. (At least it does so when I do it.)

thanks you guys.  I tried googone, bought some this morning but they were out of the gel and only had a little pen thing.  Maybe I'll try the gel.  I also tried WD40 and Pam.  Some of them started coming off when I used a credit card to scrape it off (doesn't mar the finish). I'll try the water trick too, and maybe with all 3 I might get lucky,  not sure the door will ever be the same though.

When I used the vegetable oil, I remember I let it soak in for several hours before it even looked like it was coming off. Maybe put some on and let it set overnight.

Those credit cards are good for all kinds of little tricks, aren't they? smile

Goo gone, the orange gel that clings, let it soak in for awhile, works great. That pen thing doesnt work. We use goo gone at work....if it can get rid of our mess, it can clean a door.

I have the door soaking in Pam....ha.  Will check the hardware store tomorrow for the gel googone, you are right, the pen doesn't work.

Windex is good too..Or Murphys oil soap for wood. Just let it sit.

Go to a craft store like Michaels or Hobby Lobby and purchase a product call UnDo. It is in liquid form and should take the stickers right off without damaging the wood.

Yep, I couldn't find the gel googone, but I used the liquid and a utility knife to get the left overs off.  All gone.  hiya
Thanks for all the advice.  Hope my kiddo isn't going to kill me for taking them off.
