Thanks, Gable!! This info will hopefully save me lots of money!
I haven't bought the proper tool yet for my new little Shi-zu (bad word, lol). but I definately need to get it. I read about them needing that undercoat removed and needed consistent grooming. The last few days when I've woken up my bedroom and living room look like it snowed where he has shedded. His fur's growing back now since his grooming though and I like him better all fluffy and wooly like a little teddy bear. I think I'm just gonna have him groomed on his head from now on as the facial hair gets in his eyes if it's not kept trimmed. He's such a little love bug!!
Oooh, my groomer did that removal of undercoat thingy with a flowvee or something its called. NO MORE SHEDDING! Its great! It was coming out in tufts all over the darn place. Groomer said only needs it once every other or third grooming as needed.
Hi Dennysblondie. I don't see a picture of Titan. I've clicked on your profile, the dancing doggie, and every word in your post. Has it been taken down or something?
He's adorable! You could fall in love almost immediately. Same with Darby! What kind of dog is he? I'm thinking of getting a dog around the summertime. Is he easy to take care of of?
Hi Jeez, Thank you for the compliments. Titan is a Pomerian, his hair is kinda short for this time of year, usually he is a huge fur ball in the winter. I'm not sure if you know about all our "Drama", but he is recovering from an accident where I actually ran over him in the car. Actually, I backed over him. I was devestated, and got tons of suppport from all our friends here and at Playfirst and JUL, that helped so much. He's so much better, and will not have to have a back leg ampudated. Thank goodness!! He is very, very easy to take care of. He was potty trained within a month, and had developed definate times when he will let you know that he has to GO !! I really don't do a lot of manitence on him, except in Winter, when his hair is three times as fluffy, then he gets hot spots near his tail and needs a special medicated shampoo. Very loyal, barks when someone pulls up in the driveway, and is lying right at my feet, his usual spot when I am at the "puter. That's my boy.LOL DB
lol, DB, you just described my Little One's habits too! When I'm on my 'puter he lays at my feet and sleeps, waitin' for me to go 'somehwhere' lol! I have to look down before I get up to make sure I don't roll my chair wheels over him. He 'guards' me like a hawk, lol.
Hi Dennysblondie. Yes, I heard about Titan's accident, but you were already receiving so much support there was nothing much I could add. I did grow up with dogs and cats, and especially when my dogs got hurt or died, I was devastated. I understood your anguish, and glad Titan is doing better so you're happy now.
Titan is beautiful, DB. I'm so pleased he healed up as well as he did.
Actually, all the pets here are just adorable.
Thought it was time to post a picture of my cat, Sasha. He's nine pounds, nine years old, and imagines himself to be a soccer player. He has an awesome catch with balls of paper or Q-tips. He's the best cat I've ever had. Very lovable and, really, well-trained.

Hey Cruzer!! I have an ELMO!!! lets see if I can find a pic of him....Hi is 7 yrs old and the lover of the group(he doesn't harm or play with anything) he is my daughters cat,she dresses him up and pushed him the stroller. This cat is so laid back that when my daughter was 2 she broke the tip of his tail..he did nothing...At age 5 she held him like a baby umm a little too tightly and popped a disked..he did nothing...of course he was babied for the next 6 weeks till his back healed...And of course he loves all the kids.no matter what they do to him..He is the reason for us getting a new kitten (Angel) for my son. He wanted a cat that would sleep with him. Of course new kitten he has nothing to do with the kitten so she is now mine...

Oh wow, Gable! I love your Elmo. I am so partial to black cats! Loved your stories about him -- sounds like an extremely mellow cat! Just a lover, eh? How nice. Glad you have a kitten now -- aren't they a hoot? I am so tempted to get a kitten, but Sasha would just about freak. He's so spoiled now, he would never adjust. Enjoy!

well Elmo and Pooh are 7 yrs old...I have had dogs come and go but I was just not ready to add to the cat family..plus i thought they would also have a hard time adjusting to a new kitten...which of course they did. They don't care if I add a new dog..but a kitten they acted like they were terrified of her! I did choose a female thinking they would adjust better than a male and have to worry about territory...at 9 months old she had a hard time adjusting to them lol they ignored her. But now after a few months they are all friends and play and sleep together. Oh and of course beat up the puppy...
I believe I posted a picture in an earlier post with Angel playing in a plastic "wal-mart" bag at Christmas.
