Another Day in The Hollow 2/11/09

Good Morning Gang,
It's not too bad in this part of The Hollow today.  It's 48f/9c and that's pretty much where we are going to stay all day.
We set a record high yesterday of 60f/16c, our normal high is 30f.  Although we love the heat the first round always causes a problem with snow melt.  There are already flood watches and warnings out and we're supposed to get a half an inch of rain today.  Fortunately we're on high ground and don't have a basement so it won't impact us.
Over at The Pond this morning they have brought out
Egypt 3- The Fate of Ramses.  It looks like a quite interesting puzzle but it's a large file game so no demos.  I don't buy games without trying them first so if any of you get it please let us know.
GameHouse is giving away Pirateville today.  It's a pretty easy HOG but the story line is a little lame, imo.
Here in The Hollow we have Kiss Me.  Sorry but it's enough to make a 7 year old wretch.  I figured it would not be my cup of tea by the description but I just had to see.  I suffered through 5 minutes of the demo it just to see how bad it was.  It was bad and I did suffer.  (The things I go through for you guys, lol j/k)

                            Kiss Me

Draw a line to love in Kiss Me! Connect cuddly pets, including puppies, kitties, and ducks, as they pursue the City of Happiness. Map out the perfect path and plan a strategy for hitching your heart to your matching mate. Collect treats and toys as you hop, trot, and jump your way over bridges and hills to reach your pet partner. Reward your pets and keep them happy with the goodies you collect, but don't let them fall asleep! Hook up love now!

  • Four game-play modes
  • Six cuddly creatures for you to match up
  • 120 vividly illustrated levels
  • Connect your pets to find the City of Happineness

Well I made it to the end of C3 the other night so I did the only logical thing.  I started a new game.  There is so much going on by the end, it was almost not enjoyable the first time through.  Something I found with C2 was the 2nd time around I was able to build more of a strategy and enjoyed it much more.
My memory isn't the greatest in the world, (that's the understatement of the year) so I remember just enough to give me a little edge on things.
I may get the full version of MegaPlex Madness tonight.  I loved the demo, especially the way the customers arms and legs flail when you grab them.
What's on your game schedule today, don't be shy, let us know.
As always, whatever part of The Hollow you're in, I hope you have a great one.

Good Morning, ljot!  Our high today in this part of the Hollow is targeted for 72f and plenty of sunshine.  We're already back to wearing shorts in this neck of the woods. What a beautiful day!!

Thanks for the head up on the "Kiss Me" game. Think I'll pass on that one for sure.  It does look like a very young child's game, lol.  I'm still playing Totem Tribe and have made it to the Island of Worship.  What's strange is that I don't normally play RPG's. But I don't remember ever having so much fun with one game since DDHH was released.  I've been playing it for a week now and still have at least a couple of days (nights) worth to keep me busy.  Then, of course I plan to start it over again as, like you with C3, I'll have a much better strategy planned the second time around.  I do that with most games I really like, especially the PF games with medals.  The second time around always gets a much better score.

Have a great day, and try to stay warm and dry!! girly

Good morning/afternoon/evening.
It got up to 38F here today but was quite sunny. Pinky, 72F? We're lucky to get that at the height of summer!!! I plan on trying Totem Tribe this evening if I can stay awake long enough! Didn't manage to get back to sleep after 3.45am!

Thursday 2/12/09

Good Morning Gang,
It's winter again in this part of The Hollow this morning.  It's 35f/2c and it's not supposed to get any warmer.  I try and remind myself it's only February and we will probably still have a couple of good snows before the season is over.
Over at The Pond this morning they brought out Wonderland Adventures-Mysteries of Fire Island.  Not a bad puzzle game, similar to Snowy's Adventures but the theme is geared to younger players.
Today's free GameHouse Game is The Legend of Eldorado, a Match 3 that came out a few years ago.  Some of the upper levels are tricky but it's still just a Match 3.
For you HOG lovers RA came out with Undiscovered Worlds-the Incan Sun.  Same ancient artifact theme that imo has been overdone.  An easy to mid difficulty hog and the objects are large enough you don't need a magnifying glass to find them.  Not a bad game if you want to burn a credit.
Here in The Hollow they snuck in an extra game last night.  Clueless, another fashion themed TM game.  Sorry, didn't try it, not quite ready for the fashion theme yet.  (Besides I take enough harassment from my daughter without giving her ammunition.  She still rags on me about playing The Dream Day Series.
The nice surprise was today's game that came out at The Hollow.
A puzzle game similar to the Snowy Series but more with the flavor of the old Lolo series from the original nintendo.  I only had about 1/2 hour this morning to play with it but it does look extremely promising.

I didn't get MegaPlex Madness last night like I had planned.  After everybody's excitement I checked out Totem Tribe.  I normally don't play RPG's because the first and only one I've played was Super Mario RPG for Super Nintendo.   It didn't do a whole lot for me but I am enjoying this one.  It takes a little bit to get used to the strategy but it's fun.
Not sure what I'll play tonight, there's finally enough decent games to make a list (which is good because those credits aren't doing me any good sitting on a server.)
What's going on in your part of The Hollow?  Any new or old games got you hooked?  Jump in and let us know.
As always, whatever part of The Hollow you're in, I hope you have a great one.

Good Morning, Rob. In this part of the Hollow another warm, sunny day. We've opened all our windows and there's a nice breeze flowin' through. Givin' all the doggies a bath. We have to enjoy this weather while we have it 'cuz the summer heat gets unbearable.

Thanks for posting about Majestic Forest. Gonna try it later today. Looks very interesting and I'm nearing the end of Totem Tribe so I'll need something new to play soon (although I do plan to replay TT also, lol). I hope you enjoy it (TT) as much as I have. Have a great day and Happy Gaming!!

Pinky,
I need the address to your part of the hollow, so that me, Titan, and Sebastian can come live with you before it gets unbearably hot.  biggrin

In my part of the hollow, we had a horrific rainstorm with extremly high winds last night that ripped off 2 parts of my rain gutters and slung my mailbox all the way over the carport and into the side yard.

We (  me, Titan, and Bas) no longer feel safe in the deep dark forrest when the sun rarely shines, and the winds are bitter and full of flying objects....so send directions for your part of the hollow, and we'll see you in a few hours or so...

LOVE YA....MEAN IT!!!!!!  halo          DB, Titan, and Bas

Ok, to get to my part of the Hollow, you must start at the mushroom Ljot fell off of when laughin' at me wearing Gable's pradas that Summer so generously donated from Gable's house (while Gable's gone on vacation)
(See "The Story of Hobbit Hollow", lol.)   Once you find that mushroom, follow the yellow path that leads to the bubbling brooks.  You'll have to pass through the blue mountains on the way, don't mind the little Gnomes, they're quite friendly fellows.  Follow the stream 'til you come to the huge crystal gardens. In the middle of the gardens is a transporter. Jump in and it'll zap you to my part of the Hollow. Daisy, Precious, and Bandit will be waitin' for Titan and Sebastian with tails a waggin', lol.

How could anyone not love this weather.  If I didn't know better I'd think spring had already 'sprung' here, lol.  Of course I did have to take my allergy meds this morning, but, hey, it's soooooo worth it!!

Okay Pinky,
Watch out for us, at first light we'll head out. It's too scary and dangerous in the deep dark forest to start to tonight. I hate to cook, but I will keep the house spotless...

BTW...as I was scrolling down to post, I noticed a post of Ijot's in big big letters saying KISS ME. Is he holding up a sign or something...heart

*sitting poolside sipping a mean Mango Margarita*

Hello ladies! I can't help you find Rob's house tonight...or wherever you were going. I'm focused on my own Valentine...Darby! lol.

But I did make a great Champagne Chicken & Shrimp over roasted garlic smashed potatoes with sauted zucchini and squash. Applesauce cake for dessert. YUMMY.
