Freerice.com is an online quiz for kids 8 and up that helps build vocabulary with a charitable twist. For each correct match your kid makes, 20 grains of rice are donated to the United Nations World Food Program. Last year it raised 44 billion grains, enough to feed 2 million people for one day. Due to its popularity amongst kids, the site also now features questions on artists, world capitals, chemistry, symbols, etc.
If you have a kid or grandkid, check out this fun site and teach them the habits of learning and giving!
YAY! I am so glad you tried this. I played it for like an hour the other day. I had so much fun! And they have added more topics too....it kind of reminds me of that game trivia thing they have at Gamezebo, except its all topics and helps raise awareness and charity!
I played in the Spanish one....see if I still remembered anything from high school and amazingly I did...hmm, then why do I have such a hard time deciphering the menu at El Rodeo?
I did the math multiplication and have to say i did awesome could have played forever i was impressed i knew them all stopped at 3060 grains of rice donated will have to go back later to do more. such a worthy cause and easy to do.
