Perhaps you can try cleaning out your temporary files and internet cookies and crumbs and that milkshake you spilled on your keyboard a few months ago....

I use http://cleanup.stevengould.org/.
Dowload the CleanUp file and it will clean up your computer very quickly.  It sounds like a little toilet flushing. So cute.  I run it at least once a day on my computer to get rid of all that small stuff.

If you have bigger issues, perhaps a virus or icky stuff that maybe you don't even know you have, I use http://www.superantispyware.com/download.html.  There is a Free Edition there that you can download to your Desktop.  It always catches thingies and bugs and weirdness on my poor little puter.
