Summer 2010

What's everyone doing this summer? Any plans?

Right now, I'm working my behind off, trying to get thru this never-ending recession and come out the other end with my promotion....

Been discussing with my boss a relocation to Nashville, TN next summer, or a move to Miami/Boca Raton/Aventura later this summer....not sure if anything will come of either.

Not sure I want it to. Kinda like it here in Raleigh. Pretty happy here. :)

Would like to see a bigger paycheck of course, but hey....who wouldn't?

Playing DDO.com with friends at night in the meantime to kill time while the
laundry spins <---- *sounds exciting, huh?*

So what are you doing to have fun right now?

I don't know what fun is any more. I haven't played any pc games in a long time...I play some of the apps on Facebook but delete because they are BORING!!!! we are at the end of softball(now in playoffs) and tee ball (have one more game) then less that 2 weeks left of school...Only in the 5th week of college and already regretting not choosing a campus. I was warned the first 2 classes(introductory courses to college) would be boring but damn!!! I don't have fun anymore..I have totally lost my sense of humor...jacked up my left ankle and knee so pissed about that too...gee can I complain some more??? yes but its pointless so I won't

Nothing much exciting going on this summer. Probably take a couple of day trips, there's an amusement/water park a couple of hours from here. The big thing is I'm putting a large canning garden in this year. Lots of tomatoes, peppers, cukes etc and of course the Giant Pumpkins :)

ooooh I wanna garden too!! When I was growing up, my grandfather had a HUGE canning garden, almost 1/2 acre. They were all in rows that I still remember. Green onions, lettuces, yellow onions, potatoes, green peppers, tomatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbages, rhubarb, pumpkin was last...plus a cherry tree and a white grape arbor and a blue concord grape arbor. The arbors are the only thing the current owner kept but she doesn't care for them. Old Vine is the best, makes great wines too, very sweet wines if you like them....makes me sad. Sometimes when I go up there, I sneak up into her yard and eat some grapes. lol. Reminds me of my grandpa.

Meanwhile I will just water my two little aloe instead of fantasizing about a canning garden, so Gable doesn't yell at me.

Or was it, don't water the aloe?

I always forget. :(

It's about a BAZILLION degrees outside today. I made the mistake of driving to the grocery store at noon to get ice cream, car said check gauges, I was like, oh that doesnt pertain to me, car started overheating, Tony told me to turn the Jeep off cuz the water thingy said 260 but I was like "Are you crazy? I have Peanut Butter Chocolate Klondikes melting in the car!! so I kept driving... lol....now I have to go have it checked tomorrow and see if the thermostat melted. lol.

Had the best vacation this year!   We stayed in a place that had cable tv and computer hook up.   Nice air-conditioned rooms.   A kitchen if we wanted to use it.  Nice clean beds.   LOL  We had a staycation.   It really was good!  We didn't have to worry about packing or unpacking, driving in traffic, or spending the money.   I feel like Judy Garland in Wizard of Oz, when she kept saying, "there's no place like home!"

Latte,  I have a feeling that the east coast is going to be going through some economic growth.   Unfortunately, it's because of the oil spill.  Actually the travel industry on the east coast has been growing for awhile.  My brother started with just a couple of tour boats off of Jekyll island and now they have several boats as well as touring buses.   Wherever you settle I know you will make it home!   Candy
