Summer Movies

I know this has nothing to do with casual games, but I love to talk about movies. And since the summer season is almost over, I think it's appropriate to talk about summer blockbusters. Which ones have you've seen this year?

Since I was busy and don't have my own car, I only saw 2 movies with my family.

1) Star Trek: I loved this movie. Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto were good (not to mention cute)! This is the fun reboot that the Star Trek franchise needed. 4/5 stars. :)

2) Terminator Salvatio: Not as good as Star Trek (or the first 2 Terminator films for that matter). But it was an action packed film. The acting was good. 3/5 stars.

Movies I want to rent on DVD:

1) Up
2) Transformers 2
3) G.I. Joe (I think I'd be better off renting it when it comes to DVD).

We saw two movies in the theater, which is a lot for us.

Xmen Origins: Wolverine - Great movie if you like the Xmen movies. Word is they will be making another origins about Ryan Reynolds' character from this movie.

Harry Potter 6 - Great if you are into the Harry Potter movies. Surprise ending, love triangles, and more secrets revealed.

I know it is not a summer movie, but I'm dying to see New Moon as well...lol.

Jinx,  I can not wait till New Moon comes out in theaters this fall. !!! I just got done re reading the series again lol.

I dont go to many movies I just never had the desire to go to them lol.  We did of course go see Harry Potter out this summer.

It was good but I dont think it was one of the best Harry Potter movies out there imo. But, Im very anxious to see the last movie of the HP series.  I bet its going to be a good one .

I will be watching this thread also.  We dont watch alot of movies in teh summer cause of camping and doing all this other stuff , but we catch up on movies in the winter time lol.

You haven't heard? The last book will be split into two movies (part 1 and Part 2). So we still have a while to wait before we see how it all ends on the big screen. I have not read the books, nor do I know how it ends, so I'm very anxious to see the last two. I wish I could help more with the movies, but I usually don't see them until the come out on DVD (Netflix family...lol).

no Jinx I didnt hear about that :o(.  I know they was trying to hurry up and make the movies because the kids was getting way to old to fill the roles and there was some contract issues starting up also .

Hopefully, it wont be a long stretch of time before one and two come out .

Oh Jinx you got to read the books.  The books are so great and of course books are always better then the movies.

This last movie they put out Half Blood prince there was sooo much detail that was left out of this movie .

If you get the chance read the books you will not be disappointed in them.

Well, I really don't want to read them. I have soooo many other books I want to get read. Plus, my son has read all of them and he loves to tell me everything that wasn't in the movie. It's like have the books on audio tape...lol. I was surprised to see the last one split in two as well. Maybe they are going to tape them at once but edit them into two movies. Hopefully they will release them close to each other, but knowing hollywood, they will probably be released one per year. I kind of hope they split the last twilight book into two movies as well. For things like this, I'd rather see two movies, then have too much great stuff cut from the book.

We have seen Up, The Hangover and G-Force. I don't think I'm forgetting anything. Still on my list to watch are: Public Enemies, Inglorious Bastards, Funny People and Halloween 2.
