Plinky Prompt: Green

What are you doing to help the environment?

I reuse plastic. At home. That's about all. We don't have mandatory recycling where I live.

However, at work, we recycle paper, plastic, ...and we compost all the food scraps from our restaurant...and we recycle the french fry oil....actually, it gets taken to a pig farm and mixed with their food, and they poo it out and it makes manure. lol.

We have compact fluorescents in the house and we drive a small fuel efficient car. We recycle paper, cardboard, plastics, metal, etc. We also reuse plastic bags & have reusable cavnas grocery bags. I used to keep the AC pretty high during the day (81), but lately that hasn't been happening ;p
I'm planning on using a combination of cloth & hybrid diapers. I may need to use some disposables in the beginning & maybe for some overnights, but I'm hoping to go mainly cloth with cloth wipes instead of disposible ones.

Really? I visited a friend's for the weekend & she uses cloth. There was no smell (she used a dry bin with a zippered bag & baking soda). they were very user-friendly, & the brands she chose didn't usually need to be rinsed. The hybrids are mostly flushable.
Do you remember which brands you used? I'm leaning towards FuzzyBunz, bumGenius, or Happy Heineys for the cloth & gDiapers hybrids.
I really hope the cloth works out. I'd rather shell out $300-$600 one time for diapers than spend up to $3000 over the course of 2 years. Plus they are just SO DARN CUTE!!!!!!
Oh, yeah, and there's something baout the environment in there, too, but it's not my main concern. Money, then fashion, then everything else.

It's all about the name, imo. Happy Heineys is just sooooo cute.

I demand you use them.

We don't really do that much. As of right now my city does not pick up or have a place to drop off recyclables. They just had a survey to see if people would be willing to add an extra $5 to their water bills so they could start doing a bi-weekly pick up.

I don't buy bottled water anymore. I just fill up old ones that I have.

Well, Happy Heineys are the only ones I've found that offer a COW PRINT diaper!! Seriously, it might be the cutest thing I 've ever seen!
